WELCOME SCF FANS TO SCF 9: HIGH VOLTAGE!

Steve Lawson: We are LIVE here in Sacramento California at the Arco Arena and man is it packed! Welcome to SCF 9: High Voltage, a perfect name for this one because this place is electric! Hello I'm Steve Lawson here with my partner Michael Calloway and Mike, alot of great fights tonight!

Mike Calloway: Big Title fight tonight, Sasha Marquez puts her title on the line against her biggest threat yet in Arnold Hemingway, D.J. Syn returns to the octagon to face Mark Martin in his SCF debut

Steve Lawson: And ofcourse Johnny Steels taking on Cal Carter

Mike Calloway: Another good fight, not as high profile as a Marquez vs Hemingway, but alot of questions will be answered with this fight for sure.

Steve Lawson: That and much much more on the way tonight but before we get to these fights, Frank Masters vs James Boltz!

Steve Lawson: Frank Masters
is a Kickboxing and Wrestling expert who after losing to Korban James
by way of knockout, disappeared from the fighting screne for a little
while to rethink his strategy. Now claiming to be much more prepared
for the fight game, Frank looks to put on a great show and hopefully
put himself back into the title picture as he faces SCF new comer James
Boltz!

Steve Lawson:
Not much is known about either of the next two fighters at the moment but both
fighters look to change that as they come to the octagon ready to make
names for themselves.

Mike Calloway:
James Washington may be somewhat unknown, but Nathan is truly unknown.
Nobody knows his style, he doesn't speak often, I'm just like you guys man, I don't know what to expect here.

Steve Lawson:
When asked which fighter has had the hardest time adapting to the level
of Supreme Cage Fighting, one fighter has always come to mind. David
Lee. David Lee, a StarrcadiaCF veteran was never able to reach title
shot status. He'd win a fight, then he'd lost a fight, then he'd win a
fight followed by another loss. Since joining the SupremeCF Lee has
lost 3 fights in a row, his most recent fight ending in a draw.
Desperate to gain his first win in the SCF, David Lee had no problem
facing SCF new comer William Foster.

Mike Calloway:
Believe it or not, I feel the advantage here goes to David Lee. He has
much more experience, he's been in the octagon with alot of talented
fighters so William Foster probably won't bring in anything Lee hasn't
already seen. Foster is making his debut and his style is ground and
pound, can Foster get him to the ground? Who knows, and even then, Lee
is no slouch on the ground. So while Lee is 0-3-1, I feel he has a
better chance at winning this fight.

Steve Lawson:
Mike doubts William will do much to stop David Lee from grasping his
first SCF win. Will he be right? Or will William Foster add yet another
loss to David Lee's record, moving up the Lightweight Rankings?

Steve Lawson: And now prepare for a war as Ryan Clark! Takes on Jamesie MacDowall!

Mike Calloway:
I think that this could potentially be the fight of the night Steve.
Alot of people look over these fighters because they lost their first
fights, but look at who they were facing. Sasha and Arnold Hemingway
are both undefeated fighters. In my opinion they were victims of
mis-matched fights. With the two now facing each other, I think we'll
see a more competitive fight.

Steve Lawson: Who do you give the advantage to?

Mike Calloway:
I'd have to give the advantage to Jamesie MacDowall, based solely on
the fact that Ryan Clark hasn't fought since SCF 1. Huge down time,
while Jamesie fought just a few cards ago, saw where he screwed up and
plans on not making the same mistake twice. We haven't seen his ground
skills though, Clark's ground skills actually rivaled Sasha's. We
haven't seen MacDowall's ground game and have no clue what will happen
if he's put on his back.

Steve Lawson:
Mike calls this one potential fight of the night, I call it Ryan Clark
vs Jamesie MacDowall looking to prove the first fight showed nothing
based on what they planned on doing tonight, sit back and relax folks!

Steve Lawson: Mark Martin vs D.J. Syn!

Mike Calloway:
D.J. surprised me in his last fight, completely dominated Anthony
Scardera to win a unanimous decision, I'm actually looking forward to
his fight tonight against Mark Martin. I've never seen Martin fight,
but this man is a big lean dude with a background in wrestling and BJJ,
so I doubt D.J. will control Mark Martin on the ground like he did
Anthony.

Steve Lawson:
In a bout that has the potential to be called "Ground Fighting 101",
who will reign victorious, and rise up the ranks in quest of
Championship Gold?

SCF 9: High Voltage Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCF 9: High Voltage   SCF 9: High Voltage I_icon_minitimeSat May 31, 2008 9:49 pm

Steve Lawson:
Up next, Johnny Steels and Cal Carter in the Middleweight Division!
Both these guys are coming off of loses so you know they'll both want to put on a better performance tonight, especially Jonny.

Mike Calloway: He's been calling out the former champ ever since stepping foot into the SCF, then he lost to Jeffery Schoolcraft who had never won a fight in the SCF before then via TKO. Schoolcraft is also a guy that Gilberto defeated in a dominating fashion. Now he's facing another fighter who lost to a champion and has no wins on their record.

Steve Lawson:
The thing about Jeffery though Mike is that he's always had talent,
just a bad camp. After switching teams he began training to his full
potential and it showed that night. Plus Jonny was making his debut
into the SCF so you always have to think about first fight jitters into

Mike Calloway: Well
both of these guys have experienced defeat so there will be no excuses
after this one is over. Both these guys need to win this fight if they even want to be thought of as a legitimate threat in the
Middleweight division.

Steve Lawson: Cal Carter! Johnny Steels! Next!

SCF 9: High Voltage Empty
PostSubject: Re: SCF 9: High Voltage   SCF 9: High Voltage I_icon_minitimeSat May 31, 2008 10:03 pm

Steve Lawson: Ladies and Gentlemen...it's time!

Mike Calloway:
Finally, the time for talk is over! It's time to put up or shut up as two of the SCF's rising lightweight fighters Sasha and Arnold duke it out for the title. Theres been alot of words said by both fighters and it all leads to this.

Steve Lawson: Could we see a new champion here tonight Mike?

Mike Calloway: We honestly could, Arnold Hemingway's style is the worst possible style for Sasha Marquez. Excellent striker who's hard to takedown. Not only that but Arnold has been on a tear finishing fights more quickly and in a more dominating fashion each time. With each fight he grows more
confident and you can see it in his performances. But Sasha has taken
beatings in the past and found ways to win every single time. That's
what makes this fight so great Steve anything can happen.

Steve Lawson: What can Sasha do to retain her title?

Mike Calloway: Obviously
go for the takedown right off the bat. If she doesn't get it, pull
guard immediately, she does NOT want to stand up and trade with
Hemingway. But at the same time, Hemingway does not want to go to the
ground with Sasha. Yes he's never been taken down, but thus far he
hasn't fought a fighter like Sasha Marquez who will find a way to get
the fight to the ground. Ping Wong and David Cross are dangerous
strikers as well and she found a way to bring it to the ground tapping
them both out. I can't even predict who's going to win this one, it
honestly depends on which fighter shows up more prepared and where the
fight goes

Steve Lawson:
Thanks Mike. This is it folks! One fighter will leave SCF 9 with their first loss, the
other an Undefeated Lightweight Champion, will it be Sasha Marquez, or Arnold
Hemingway, that fight, is next!

Steve Lawson: Ladies and Gentlemen, Arnold Hemingway is the NEW! Lightweight Champion!

Mike Calloway:
Wow, Sasha is pissed!

Steve Lawson: Was she out Steve?

Mike Calloway: I'm not sure Mike. Sasha is known for taking tons of damage, and she got up immediately after it was stopped. I'm not a ref, I can't question his stoppage but I'm sure this is not the finish either of these fighters wanted..
