UCL Wants to Cross Promote

I could make your site into a temporary sponsor if you'd like. About the cross promotion however, I'm not sure if that would work out. What sim do you use exactly, also where can I find the link to your org? In order for the cross promotion to take place we would have to use the same non permanent rule settings for all fighters involved. Be it following my rule settings, your rule settings or creating a rule setting specifically for the cross promotion. For example if your strat caps start at 15 in your sim and mine starts at 10, that's unfair for my side. We'd have to find even ground, lay out the rules and go from there otherwise it's going to be very drawn out, confusing and unorganized.

Yes we do use the UMSimulator. and as stated above, it would be converted easily if we used the same char sheet. If you used our charsheet, it would be somewhat unfair for you and your group as my fighters have already begun training and thats what our sheet was built for. However the strats are low so that the fighters can be built up, so if your fighters don't train or start off with a higher start out limit it would be unfair for me and my team. So in order for us to run this fairly we would have to build a temporary character sheet for both parties to use in the event of cross promotion.

As you mentioned I understand that cross promotional fights would not be easy. We would have to work out the ground rules to make sure it was fair to both fighters and make sure both were evenly matched. This is why I was hoping to get in contact with you. So that if you were interested we could start working on the details. Of course, I would want to have those fights for a little while still. I would want to have a decent amount of my own events done first so I can get a better idea of who stands where in their divisions. I completely understand that you are not interested in having those fights any time soon but I hope that in the future we could work something out. Again, thank you for your time.

Nice start, a little bright though lol Kind of wish you were an admin here as you seem to have alot of interesting ideas. I thought of adding the steroid one before, but didn't want too many fighter's abusing it. Also thank you for being so understanding. As you can see we are only on our 5th card going on 6 so we still have a long way to go, we'll probably be ready for some cross promotion by SCF 8-10. Seeing as you're literally just starting out you may need more time so whenever you're ready, let me know and we can start working together.

Now in all honesty I hate cross promotion because it never turns out well especially when the two administrators barely know each other. What usually happens is that it ends up an unorganized mess, and both leagues slow down because of it, but if he listens to me, we could probably somehow pull it off. Seeing as he's literally just starting out though, the guy has nothing to lose from the cross promotion as it would serve as an extended advertisement. I think most of the fighters are even played by him so I'm going to wait until he gets a couple more people signed up to his site before promoting ours there. But what do you think about this?

Hrmmm, Im not sure where i site on cross promotions. I tried it with GCC on the warzone. at first it sounded like fun. but later on we wanted different things. If we are going to do this, we need sloid lines on this. I find myself around the 35% for this idea. I do enjoy the respect and sincerity in his posts though.

He coded a sim? I will laugh so very hard if he says NHB lol. BTW if he is just starting out, why not have his dudes join us?

lol, it's more like he downloaded a version of UMS and changed the text around much like I do here. You're at 35%? I'm like at 17% lol. I don't like cross promotion at all because after it's all over, if someone at one place lost and the fight was simmed by the opposite org, they'll say the fight was rigged and there would be alot of OOC bs. I also believe that Cross Promotion is nothing more than extended promotion as usually the site that brings up the idea has more to gain than the other. That's why I had to let him know from the gate that if we did do the cross promotion it would have to be very organized. But having the cross promotion isn't really something I want to do. Getting his guys to join us is what I'm trying to do lol. I want a second Org ran on this bored at the same time. be it an org to rival the SCF or a smaller league that fighters fight in before reaching the SCF. If Warzone was ran under UMS I would've asked you to keep it running here. but right now I'm just waiting for him to get more members before putting our link up. That way it won't be burried under his posts before new members can see it.

I liked the UI for NHB. But it was kind of lame. I had to go into the code manually and fix a few things. Im a god with Flash and Swish and all those goodies. I may eventually code a simulation program for something. But, until then.

Cross - promotion is " Ass-tastic " and a bad idea and best.

lol Yeah I liked NHB too, the ground game on it was the best I've ever seen on any sim. It's just that everyone started to figure out the sim and placed alot of their points in one area making kangaroo styled characters which resulted in short fights. UMS was new meaning nobody had figured it out yet, plus it allowed me to go in and change around just about everything which I also liked. Only thing I dislike about it is the ground game on it, but hopefully it'll become more realistic with time.

And I was thinking about asking a friend to create an intro video to put on our portal page, He made one for Starrcadia but I never got the chance to put it up

Is there anything you could do with flash to set us apart from all the other sims graphic-wise?

And yes, just so we're on the same page about joe, the plan is not to cross promote, but to try and get his org to merge with ours. I'm trying to post our link in Jungle Chaos but my account hasn't been activated yet. I know we'd get some good members if I could just post there, or atleast find out what the people like least about it as the guys usually talk to each other about it and convince others to join with them in the same thread.

What would you want with the into video? I am fairly sure i could tamper the sim through flash/java script. What are you looking for?

If you wanted to create a Into video for the site, and you wanted to do it yourself... I suggest getting Swish flash program. It has all the features that Macromedia has, with a much simpler interface. The only downside to Swish, however it the files are saved into .swf files. Meaning, they will 1. Be bigger in size ( which doesnt really matter for people with DSL or Cable ) and 2. The intro will take a few more seconds to load up then usually ( again, wont be a major issue with people who have non-walmart connections ).

I'm not sure if flash could support the type of video I plan on having up on the portal.

But I didnt mean a flash or swish video, like for example if we got a side site up and running how flashy could we get it? Or does it depend on the place where we choose to build the site?

we could do the entire site in flash if you wanted to get uber flashy... but thats alot of code.

that entire video could be placed into the flash. All i would do is edit in an enter button at the end and a skip button at the bottom.
